In April 2015, McDougall United Church became a designated Provincial Historic Resource by the Province of Alberta and a Registered Historic Site by the City of Edmonton.
In response to our need to find a viable future for McDougall’s building as a community resource, we have invited Trinity Centres Foundation to join us in our exploration of site development, and the potential of creating a new mixed-use community hub and adjoining mixed-use development with a church at its heart. We are collaborating with Trinity Centres to achieve the following objectives:
- To maintain and grow an authentic Christian ministry at McDougall.
- To continue to serve the local community and beyond.
- To re-develop our property in a way that would enhance ministry and provide a strong financial legacy for the future, while maintaining its historic significance.
- To accomplish this in a creative, timely, and leading way
Members of the project team for McDougall Church are: Paul Conway, Larry Derkach, Gerald Watts. Also working with us are: Anna Bubel, Consultant, Edmonton; and Graham Singh, Executive Director, Trinity Centres Foundation, Montreal. An extensive reporting and info session for the congregation was held on Zoom and teleconference on March 7 and May 30 following the worship service.
