Music
McDougall United Church Choir
The choir at McDougall has a long history of making wonderful music in this historic
church.
Today, our choir is non-auditioned and made up of ordinary people who sing extraordinary music. Some members are professional singers, some just sing for the love of it. Some read music, some don’t. All take pleasure in creating wonderful music
Their repertoire has evolved over the years. In the earlier times, they sang mostly classical music. These days, they sing a wide variety of music:
- Classical from several periods
- Spirituals
- Contemporary
- World Music
- Gospel
No matter the genre, the music is rich in heritage and contemporary in style.

Of particular note are musicians from the Edmonton Metropolitan Orchestra, operatic singers from the “Trinity Players”, and artists drawn from professional choirs in Edmonton.
Community Musical Events
McDougall United Church is one of the most popular concert venues in the City throughout the year. We are host to dozens of concerts, choirs, musicians and artists, music competitions, and special public events, both local, national and international.
As a venue, McDougall Church was the precursor to the Jubilee Auditorium and the
Winspear Centre for Music. The acoustics in the church sanctuary are outstanding and have allowed for many breathtaking concerts over the decades.
We are able to seat 1,000 people, which includes the main floor and balcony and are
fully accessible.
Our resident choir and performance artists include:
- Korora (formerly know as Kokopelli Choirs)
